Kelpie's music...

I think music has been with me ever since I was young. When I first got my piano, I was four. It wasn't the kind of 88 key piano most people would think of. It was a Casio SA-5 SongBank Keyboard, which I still have today, intact and working. My first song of course was simple (However, I don't remember it today) and used all the keys on the keyboard.

It wasn't until I turned eight and got another piano, that I really started playing my own little peices. However, when I finally found the piano I got when I was four, I preferred it over the one I got when I was eight. For awhile, I played music, but soon I stopped and forgot a whole bunch of little peices I used to have.

I can't read music, but I can sometimes play by ear. It's hard to play by ear when the instrument(s) aren't tuned properly (Such as a piano at school).

I hope you like what I have.

A Solo Tomorrow (Remix)

A Solo Tomorrow (Sunrise Remix) I like to call it. It is in A minor, which is not even suppose to be happy. Weird surprise, huh? That's why it's called a Sunrise remix. (Yeah, I made that up)

Okay, I had a Piano Keyboarding final, and it just so happened that I was working on a song on the Midi keyboards at school in this class, instead of practicing with the songs we were given. And well, here it is.

So what's the story behind this lovely song? Well. I would always play the Tetris A song and the last two notes, A and A flat, would always feel like another song, like something missing. I would always try to play with them. But I never could get anything out of them. Then one day, I came to that class pretty tired and bored. I just played the Tetris A song... like 5 times, then it just came to me. The song came to me. Yeah I know it sounds crazy.

The beginning of the song is sort of the original, but the last two notes are not. The tempo of the song is actually about 87, but I had the original at 90, so it's a little faster than I played it at school. The original one is here: http://kelpie.fragvault.com/fl/NoAlbumYet/PianoKeyboardingfinal.mp3

Enjoy, I hope you like it.

This is a very short little peice. It may need work, but it was something I made while learning how to use the Vocoder plugin and how to route mixer tracks.
Like in the forum post I made, I also made a tutorial for them both.
Check them out: http://forum.bandamp.com/Lessons/39142.html

Anguish

When I made this I was going under a situation where I was under a lot of stress and somewhat being angry about certain things, but also depressed. This song represents a mixture of emotions. Believe it or not, when one comes out of a bad environment and is moved into a really good one, it takes a very long time to actually recover from all the bad things that happened, especially if you're not getting any therapy. And closer to the end, if you listen, it gets better, because there is some happiness in the mixture of emotions. As one always does, after awhile they finally feel better about themselves and about whats going on. And of course there is still sadness, there always will be sadness, even the most happiest of all people experience sadness at some point in life.

Enjoy, I hope you like it.

As I Techance

I made this song awhile back. I'm sure it's not really finished, but it does have potential.

I haven't been really working on any songs right now except using software that will work on my EeePC like Finale Notepad, because I found out that my house is the reason why I'm having problems with leaky capacitors in all the powersupplies. I just RMAd my last PSU, and I really can't afford to get a UPS right now to fix the problem. I am certainly craving to make music, though.

Enjoy, I hope you like it.

Asian Beach

It took me two hours to make this song. It feels to me that it has a bit of asian in it, but also the feel of being at the beach. Thus the name of the song.

This song would be the 18th and the latest song I've created. I'm not really going in order of uploading my songs.

Clarinet Solo

It's kind of a solo. I was really tired when I did it. I always have this sort of productive tiredness at times, it's where I can solve word search puzzles quickly, ace math homework, and be very creative. This has an ending that is different from others. It pans to the left and fades in volume.

It's slow, simple, and short, but it sounds good, in my opinion. I really couldn't extend it to a song more than this.

(BTW. It doesn't sound like a clarinet to me, but that's what my VSTi Plugin says it is...)

This song is meant to be sad. I believe there is a Russian influence on this song too. This song tells a story. If you listen carefully, you can hear it.

Detachment

I think this kind of sounds strange. I kind of had my headphones blown out a little more messing with this. :P I can't wait to get my new headphones.

My boyfriend helped me with this one. He touched it up a little bit, it sounds a lot better now. It's a rarity for him to do that because he's not really into my style of music. :P

Alright, I gave a little more to it, I hope it doesn't sound too bad. It kind of goes down on noteing and then back up again by one, which sounds strange to me. :P

My third edit!

Anyways, I really hope you like it, enjoy!

Developers Remix

If you only knew how awesome Steve Ballmer is! Why, with his excitement on Microsoft products, I swear he would have a heart attack. This isn't what I'd call anything special. It's like a collage of all the things we have heard Steve Ballmer get excited about! From developers for Microsoft, to Windows, to advertising for Microsoft. These are the things we love about Steve Ballmer. He is crazier than Steve Jobs. And Steve Jobs is crazy enough that he could sell sand to you and make everyone who works for Apple sell sand to you at a high dollar! Steve Ballmer refuses his children to use any products that are competitive with Microsoft. He has thrown chairs at people. All in all, he is awesome, because he is the good kind of crazy!

E-vil Comes

Well, I am really trying to show my boyfriend that I have what it takes to make an evil song. His are pretty creepy when he makes them, but I think this one is pretty good.

What's special about this piece?

As you all know, I try to include something new and different in my pieces. It usually includes some kind of panning. With this piece, there are two things different about it. You have a sort of ensemble feel. There is one synth instrument to act as a sort of bass, then you have two cellos on the left, one closer than the other, then you have the harpsichord close up front on the right and the violin at the back right. At the end the violin comes out to the middle for the last part to play it's solo.

Enjoy

Epic

Calm, but epic.

Making room for some of my good songs, and getting rid of the ones that don't need to be here anymore.

A cool technique I made to make long notes sound quick is to add a fast layer over a slow layer. It gives the appearance that the slow layer is just as fast as the fast layer.

Escape The Inanity

I hope this is the last version. This sounded pretty cool with me, but like I said, I'm not too great with percussion. I hope I didn't do anything too bad with it. I reduced the level of volume on the chasses except the one that doesn't go from ear to ear. I made the ones that go from ear to ear more noticable going from ear to ear. I reduced the volume of several other instruments in this peice so that they don't drown out the chasses with their reduced volume. Added in a beat I'm not too sure is too great, and here it is.

Enjoy, I hope you like it!

Well. I think this is a good halloween type of technoy music. I did try to put more focus on figuring out what should be the climax of my song. Because the end is the most simplest to work on, there is one on the end. Hopefully I have succeeded well.

Harmonious Balance

It's been awhile since I've been here. I have a lot of things I've made to show you all. This is the beginning of the greatest I made use of ReFX Nexus. I like this because it's so calming. There is, however, a strange sudden transition at the end.

The thing about some of my songs I'd like to say is that sometimes I learn something new and find a new good technique to use in perhaps other songs. One of these techniques is in the end of the song where there is a part that gradually gets louder than it gradually gets softer.

Kelpies Techance Boogie

Unfortunately, I know this song has many corrections in need. A few I can hear is some unwanted distortion. And I notice as I play with Fruity Loops Studio, that it doesn't handle sounds all too well at all, which is the actual reason of distortion. My boyfriend has a quad core setup with 4gbs of RAM, and somehow you still got that skippy sound when the cores weren't even at full load, and RAM wasn't even barely taken up. Which makes me think that FLS has some bugs needing to be panned out.

Anyways, I present to you a half decent song. I can no longer edit it because I do not have a good enough processor, nor enough RAM to do so.

Enjoy.

NoName

I had uploaded the wrong piece. The other piece was too much. This is a minimalistic piece. A sad piece. It is a reoccurring theme for most of my songs. This does not need anything more. It is not meant to be played by an orchestra. It is meant to be played on a piano, and I did just that.

I used Finale Notepad to create this piece. Right now I have been unable to create any music with Fruity Loops Studio, because I can't afford an UPS to prevent my house from frying my powersupply again. I just RMAd it, and I am not going to be able to use my computer, so I opted to look for a free composer, and Finale Notepad was exactly what I wanted. I had worked on this piece for awhile, and was wanting to do a song in which there was the low, simple notes, and then the melody. And since I like ACE, BDF, and FAC (piano keys) being played together, I wanted to make a more complex, yet simple piece.

Although some of my measures were odd, for instance, on some measures, I really wanted them all to be quarter notes instead of eighth notes, but could not because of the measures being 4/4. Or I wanted my whole note to be half in one measure and half in another. I made some compromises because of this.

I had my boyfriend then take the midi files and put them into FLS and make it into an MP3.

Rise Above! (Fixed)

This one is fixed so that the ending fades instead of cut off quickly.

I sometimes wish that instead of deleting and then re-adding, we could just edit the song itself.

This is pretty much the same as the last, and when I looked, I think everyone who voted seemed to like this one the most. I can explain to you why the beat to this song sounds jitteryish, and that's because that's kind of how I work when trying out a beat for a song. It's suppose to be kind of trippy. And even though it's not a - - - - all the way through, I still think the beat suits it well. I like to be somewhat creative with the beat. It may match it well, it may not, but it's suppose to feel the way it feels. At least I know I could definitely dance to it.

Tetris Song A remix

Not really a remix in my opinion, but close enough. I made this when I just started using Fruity Loops in my newbie days, aswell. This song is a couple of songs ahead from Newbie Song, and this really kicks the butt of Newbie Song. :P

I was pretty obssessed with Tetris during this time, especially since I just found the game for my gameboy. I was so obsessed, since I can't read music, I actually started playing it by ear. Since it is a fast song in my opinion, it took my longer to beable to play it. There is 3 parts to the actual tetris song. The harmony, the melody, and the "percussion".

Enjoy, I hope you like it.
